Ama Badu is Assistant Editor/FAB Website Editor at Faber. In her role, Ama champions bold, brave books and focuses on acquiring stories that are underrepresented within the publishing industry. Ama is also the voice of Shudu, the world’s first virtual supermodel, and is currently working on building her platform through narrative and storytelling. 

‘One of my favourite activities is pairing the right illustrator with the right text. It often takes longer than anticipated but the results are worth every effort. I’ve been working on a few YA projects, including reimagining classics to produce illustrated editions. This was very much on my mind when curating this collection. Here are a vibrant, energising range of images that drew me into the characters, showed such striking emotions or would make gorgeous endpapers. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed finding them’.
