Swansea Illustrators Club [SIC] – Visual Metaphor Workshop

Kick off 2026 with creativity, collaboration, and the Swansea Illustrators Club [SIC]!

Whether you’ve already broken your New Year’s resolutions or are still sticking to them, they make for excellent creative fuel. Join us at Elysium for our first meet-up of the year: a dynamic 2-hour workshop focused on the art of the Visual Metaphor.

The Workshop – In this session, we will move away from literal interpretations and explore how to communicate abstract concepts through drawing. Using “New Year’s Resolutions” as our prompts, we will tackle a series of quick-fire exercises designed to stretch your lateral thinking muscles.

This is a chance to:

> Collaborate & Connect: Share work and ideas with fellow illustrators in a relaxed group setting.
> Get Feedback: Receive constructive input from industry professionals and peers.
> Play: Enjoy a genuinely fun, low-pressure environment to experiment with new ideas.

Materials Provided (The “Lo-Fi” Edit) We believe creativity thrives within constraints! We will be providing the materials, embracing a “back-to-basics” approach with classic pencils and A3 copier paper. No need to bring expensive equipment (unless you want to)—just bring your brain and your enthusiasm.

This meet-up is open to all illustrators – whether you are a student, a seasoned professional, or just starting out.
