London illustrators Spooky meet-up and sketch

A meet up on Friday October 31 can only mean one thing... It is spooky season at last, and it’s time for the coven of creatives to meet. We would be amiss to not put together a spine-chilling gathering… or a ghoulish get-together of illustrators.

Fancy dress is optional: But if you do love to dress up, bring your blackest clothes, your witchy hats, your masks you creepy cats and your familiars (bat plushies are encouraged) and let’s get our sketch on over at the Festival Hall at the Southbank.

We thought we could try something a little different this time. Life modelling! We welcome whomever is comfortable to strike a (short) pose, and allow the rest of us to draw you. You could even do it in pairs and create a little story for the rest of us to unravel.

Perhaps we can also try our hand at embodying Dr. Frankenstein with a monster mash-up illustration: everyone gets to draw a random body part, and then it is time to assemble.

Spooky Schedule:
10:30 AM: Meet at the Riverside Terrace Cafe, Southbank Centre (overlooking The Thames) for a friendly meet-and-greet. (costume optional)
11 AM: start our scare and sketch life-drawing sessions!
12 PM: we enter the laboratory and create our monsters. Spellbinding spells welcome.
13:30 PM: wrap up the session, share our work, and head on home.

What to Bring:
Sketchbooks, paints, tablets – anything and everything you like to draw with is welcome.
Each person brings their own spark to the table, and every wand casts a different spell.
