This AOI Discusses session, taking place in This Women’s History month, we will be joined by Aisha Stoll and Mumbi Munyua AKA Heyyymumu about their experiences of mentorship, winning the Fab Prize and their ambitions as illustrators working in the publishing industry.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We’re delighted to be speaking to two of our\u00a0<\/span>AOI Mentorship<\/span><\/a>\u00a0alumni AND recipients of the much revered FAB Prize, launched by\u00a0<\/span>Faber\u00a0<\/span><\/a>in 2017. As we continue our advocacy and support for illustrators from underrepresented voices in the industry, it’s also wonderful to celebrate the milestones being reached and whilst continuing to build an industry more reflective of the world.<\/span> Limited FREE places for AOI Members!*<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our Speakers<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Aisha Stoll<\/span><\/a> is based in Hertfordshire England. Her work spans from digital illustrations to paintings, and mixed media artworks and is often colourful, playful and rooted in nature, lifestyle, health and portraiture. In 2024 Aisha won the FAB prize, and was recognised as a rising star within the publishing industry, and since then has gone on to debut her first children’s book ‘Meet the Artist: Hurvin Anderson’ with Tate Publishing.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>She has worked with clients in the publishing, commercial, non-profit and editorial spaces including names such as Tate Collective, Omnicom Group, Pinterest UK, The Smithsonian and Kings College London.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mumbi Munyua<\/span><\/a>, known as Heyyymumu, is an award-winning illustrator who\u2019s based in Hertfordshire and won the FAB prize in 2025. Her work celebrates black female experiences, identity and culture, whilst using bold, vibrant colours and dynamic compositions. She draws her inspiration from her daily life and her rich Kenyan heritage to bring her stories to life.\u00a0<\/span>With a background in digital design and graphic design, her skills are multifaceted across advertising, editorial and publishing. She enjoys bringing people\u2019s ideas and visions to life with clients such as Oxfam and Guinness and<\/span>\u00a0helps run bi-weekly life drawing classes at Proposition Studios.<\/span><\/p>\n
