How the work is going to be used by the client ultimately determines the fee you charge. Negotiation is also a normal part of this process for illustrator and client to both determine and agree the parameters of the project. \nThis webinar will not tell you what to charge\, but will help give you the tools you need to effectively licence your work\, negotiate with confidence\, and empower you to present fees that you are comfortable with. \nWe will take a comprehensive look at the licence details you need to understand from the client and how negotiating effectively can improve not only your fees\, but also your contract terms and business relationships. But there are periods when a sense that exploring new methods and materials could be beneficial\, either through a desire to build on your existing practice or move it forward. \nOur guests will be discussing the challenges of starting to work with different materials\, what opportunities this brought\, any adjustments they may have made in their working practice\, the commissioning areas open to their approaches\, and more \nWe will be in conversation with Inès Pagniez and Mike Slane of the duo\, Practice. \nOur Speakers \nInès Pagniez is a French illustrator and animation director\, and having always appreciated the charming imperfection and accessibility of plasticine\, she decided after 10 years of working in 3D animation productions in London\, to move away from computer based work and start using her hands. Her plasticine work is characterful\, playful and beautifully depicts the everyday mannerisms and nuances of human expression. \nPractice are Mike Slane and Adrian Bishop\, a creative duo of animators\, directors\, writers\, cand rafters whose work is offbeat and upbeat\, combining lo-fi and digital techniques\, stop motion\, puppetry\, live action\, stagecraft and 3D. After a relaxed cuppa and introductions\, we’ll head into the museum together to draw. \nThe Natural History Museum is inspiring and visually rich\, from its architecture and magnificent ceilings to its world-famous collections of animals\, fossils\, and natural wonders. You’re free to explore and draw whatever captures your interest\, at your own pace. \nSome of the group will be heading to the Cadogan Gallery within the museum\, a beautiful and quieter area featuring fascinating natural objects and specimens. Highlights include delicately carved shells\, penguin eggs\, and the much-loved Guy the Gorilla\, making it a wonderful spot if you enjoy detailed observational drawing. If you’d like to sketch near others who are also drawing\, this is a great area to gather. \nPlease note: The Museum has a limited number of chairs available to hire. Once everyone has arrived (by 1:30) we’ll head over together to Studio Tuck Tite for an afternoon of drawing\, chatting\, and low-key festive fun. The event will end at 4:00 \nWhat to Expect \n– Secret Santa Art Swap: Please bring a small gift for our Secret Santa exchange\, ideally an A5 artwork. It can be one of your own pieces or something created by another illustrator. All gifts will be swapped anonymously with a mystery recipient. \n– Party Games & Creative Fun: Some fun creative activities led by Michael\, owner of Studio Tuck Tite/ specialist in collaborative public enguagement whos projects include illustrators fair and green grads. Expect a few gentle party games\, time to sketch\, and space to share your work with fellow illustrators. DESCRIPTION:We’re going to That Sketch Club! Our pals at Hot Snakes meet monthly on the last Thursday of each month to sketch together (this month being earlier due to Christmas).
