DESCRIPTION:The Hub space in Peckham is to host a series of public facing events organised and delivered by graduating students from MA Illustration at Camberwell College of Arts.  \nThrough their final major projects the students have explored a variety of professional contexts within which to situate an illustrative practice; employing different modes of dissemination to engage with a variety of audiences; taking an expanded approach to professionalism that incorporates working within research\, education\, publishing\, self-publishing\, cultural institutions\, residencies\, collective work and studio-based entrepreneurism. This program of student organised events marks both the end of their 15-month MA and the beginning of their professional futures.  \nTimetable of events:  \nTuesday 4th November  \nWorking With/In Publishing \n18.00 – 19.00 (public presentation) – Students present book pitches developed from their Final Major Projects. \nWednesday 5th November  \nWorking With/In Collective Space \n17.00 – 19.00 – Pop-Up Exhibition/Event to launch a range of artist editions/prints. \nWorking With/In Education \n10.30 – 15.30 (private) 5 x workshops delivered by graduating MA students. Each workshop is for up to 10 participants from MA Illustration Y1. (This event is not open to the public) \nThursday 6th November \nWorking With/In Research \n16.00 – 19.00 – Research event to launch the publication of a new student-led journal featuring a variety of performances\, discussions and presentations. \nWorking With/In Cultural Institutions \n17.00 – 19.00 – Pop-up exhibition of works made though self-directed micro residencies in and around the new Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration. \nWorking With/In Self-Publishing – Students from self-publishing took part in the Small Publishers Fair at Conway Hall\, late October. DESCRIPTION:This special edition of Put Into Practice\, Bristol’s illustrators meet-up will be co-hosted by legendary Bristol illustrator\, freelance artist and award-winning comics creator\, Jayde Perkin. \nJayde is author of Mum’s Jumper and her beautiful work often explores themes of nature\, emotions\, mindfulness and grief – so expect some gentle and thoughtful drawing prompts along those lines throughout the session. \nWe’ll all meet at the main entrance on Bath Road\, then head into the grounds for a wander and draw. There’ll be time to sit\, draw\, reflect\, and chat\, and we’ll take a lunch break in the middle. There’s a cafe and toilets on site\, but feel free to bring along your own food\, drinks and snacks too. DESCRIPTION:Join the Falmouth illustrator meet-up group: Hive – joined by local rock pool expert Vicky Barlow – for their first ever explore and draw session.Vicky will be showing us marine critters such as Cushion Star\, Shore Crab\, Rainbow Wrack\, Squat Lobster and lots of other wonderous creatures for us to learn about and draw.\nPlease note: This is a ticketed event with very limited spaces\, so if you want to come please buy your ticket as soon as possible. \nWhen\, where & what to bring:\nWe will be meeting at Castle Beach Café at 11am on April 13th and for a couple of hours Vicky will be giving us a tour of the rock pools for us to draw.
